Lyophilised peptides and temperature

Atjaunināts 2026-07-27Šis raksts tiek rādīts angļu valodā - tulkojums tiek gatavots.

Most research peptides ship as a lyophilised - freeze-dried - powder. Removing water is what makes them stable to handle and transport: chemical degradation that needs water is slowed dramatically in the dry state.

Storage of the dry powder

  • Refrigerated at 2-8 °C is the common working condition for the sealed vial.
  • For longer-term storage, below -18 °C.
  • Lyophilised powder tolerates ambient temperature for the duration of shipping, which is why it can be sent without a cold chain.
  • Keep away from light and moisture; keep the seal intact until use in the laboratory.

When stability is lost

Repeated warming and cooling, exposure to humidity, or a compromised seal all shorten usable life. The expiry date on the label and on the test report is the reference point for the sealed, correctly stored vial.

This article covers storage of sealed research material only. It contains no reconstitution, preparation or usage instructions.
